Brandon DeMatto serves as the Varsity Head Baseball Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Mustangs Varsity Football program. A proud native of Colorado Springs, he graduated from Widefield High School in 2006 before embarking on a collegiate baseball career at Trinidad State Junior College and McCook Community College. After his playing days, Brandon began his teaching and coaching journey as an assistant football and baseball coach at Widefield High School while completing his undergraduate studies. In May 2012, he earned a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a focus on Physical Education from Colorado State University-Pueblo. From 2012 to 2016, Brandon taught 8th Grade Science at Manitou Springs Middle School and served as the Middle School Head Football Coach and Manitou Springs High School JV/Varsity baseball coach. In 2016, he then moved to MSHS taking on roles as a PE teacher, head baseball coach (2018), and varsity offensive coordinator (2017) for the football team. Brandon is immensely proud of the success the Mustangs baseball program has achieved during his seven seasons as head coach, including Tri-Peaks League Championships in 2022 and 2024, Regional Champions in 2022, and a berth in the Colorado 3A State Tournament in 2022. The program has produced exceptional talent, featuring two Tri-Peaks Players of the Year (2019, 2024) and three 3A Colorado All-State Players (2023, 2024). Above all, Brandon values the quality young men the program has helped develop and send into the community. Outside of coaching and teaching, Brandon cherishes time with his loving wife, Beth, and their two wonderful children, Turner and Collins. They are his greatest inspiration and motivation to strive for his best every day.
